Certain Young Men

“Get a life. Get a life. I don’t want a life. Life happens between those things. I have to love you. It’s as though I’ve been born, or joy.”

It’s the 90s, and the AIDs epidemic is ripping the very fabric of the Queer community apart. Certain Young Men follows seven gay men in the UK, as they navigate relationships, identity, community, family and self. As the radical wing of the Gay Rights movement grows in intensity, the duty to join up to the cause, plagues some, whilst the ever-mounting pressure to conform to heteronormative standards, within queer relationships affects others. Tensions rise to breaking point as each has to face their identity in societal and social contexts that have never previously been experienced. Certain Young Men is above all, a love story.
